The brief
A European retail flagship wanted its in-store display wall to carry campaign graphics at the finish its brand collateral could not match. Flat vinyl panels looked dull under store lighting, and the frames already on the wall were too deep for the new interior. What the brand needed was a slim, evenly lit surface that could be re-dressed every campaign without a fitter on site.
What we built
We produced a full-height display wall built from ultra-thin light box panels on an aluminium frame, faced with a silicone edge graphic (SEG) stretch fabric print. Each panel is only 12 mm deep, so the whole wall reads as one glowing plane instead of a row of boxes. The fabric is held under tension by its silicone edge, which keeps the printed surface wrinkle-free and seamless right across the panel joins.
- Panel construction: aluminium frame, 12 mm slim profile with light guide plate diffuser
- Graphic face: silicone edge graphic (SEG) stretch fabric, tension-held and wrinkle-proof
- Illumination: edge-lit LED array behind a light guide plate for even, hotspot-free brightness
- Graphic change: tool-free front loading — the SEG edge lifts out and the next campaign drops straight in
- Mounting: wall-mounted on concealed brackets, aligned panel to panel across the full run
Both the slim panel and the SEG fabric face come from our standard ultra-thin light box and soft film light box ranges, so a replacement panel or a new fabric graphic can be ordered against the same production files.
How the project ran
Signage is a physical product, so the process is deliberately front-loaded. The brand supplied its campaign artwork, the wall dimensions and a photograph of the space. We returned a scaled panel layout showing how the graphic would break across the joins, then produced a single sample panel for sign-off on brightness and fabric tension before the full wall went into production.
Because the fabric is tension-held rather than glued, artwork can run across panel joins without a visible seam line. That is what lets a display wall go floor to ceiling while still swapping one panel at a time.
Delivery and installation
The panels shipped flat-packed in protective crates, each crate labelled with the position of its panels in the wall and packed with a mounting template and wiring notes. The flagship’s own contractor fixed the concealed brackets to the wall; the panels then clipped on in sequence and the SEG graphics were tensioned in place. Nothing about the finished wall needs a specialist to service — the brand’s visual merchandising team handles campaign changes themselves.
Outcome
The flagship now runs its campaign artwork on a single slim light box wall. Seasonal graphics swap over in minutes with no tools and no access equipment, and the wall stays evenly lit edge to edge, which was the reason for moving away from vinyl in the first place. The brand keeps one wall, one panel standard and one production file, so every future campaign drops straight into the same frame.
